OK so I am daydreaming today!

I came across the WebEx labs a while ago and finally got around to fully checking out what was on the page today and I came across something that I think has real potential, WebEx Mobile.

Of course I immediately downloaded it to my wm5 ppc phone and a colleague downloaded it to his Blackberry, but then we were stymied as it only works with go.webex.com site. Phooey to WebEx for making something so promising freely available but then restricting its use to their own internal site!

Anyway, I'm still daydreaming about real Jack Bauer-type just-in-time delivery of procedures, tutorials and video. I've come up with probably ten different scenarios I'd make use of this in already, most notably as the ultimate way to deliver just-in-time training to field staff. I see it as being so much better that pre-recorded, self-paced on-line resources, because you are interacting with a live person you can customize the content to fit your specific need, at the moment you need it most.

So hurry up WebEx, I want it and I want it now!

I forwarded your question to the WebEx Mobile Product Manager. We should have a reply from him in the next day or so. Thanks for starting an interesting discussion!WebEx is always looking for innovative ways to support the learning community and WebEx Mobile is definitely a great asset for JIT training. One I get the response from the product manager, we can discuss this further.

Good morning. Irina Carrel here again. I did get in touch with the Product Manager for WebEx Mobile and here's what he said:

"We greatly value your feedback and like to see our customers guide us on specific use cases and contexts in which a mobile solution from WebEx would help you.

The information you found on the WebEx Labs site is for a “proof-of-concept” prototype we have developed to determine feasibility.  We are excited about the opportunities to take WebEx mobile and have a committed roadmap to deliver various services that will enable users on the go, to use WebEx audio, meetings, as well as WebEx Connect.  We will share more about our plans with the user community over the next few months.  You can also get in touch with your WebEx sales contact for further details."

I also hear that the Systems Engineer will be in touch with you shortly to continue the discussion. We will make sure to continue to update this thread with the latest information on WebEx Mobile.
