Brent Leary does it again. Just read one of his recent blogs entitled Four Good Minutes with David Meerman Scott. What a great read and a great listen. If you’re a marketer in today’s world, this delivers quick insight into a strategy to position yourself as a thought leader, as someone with your finger on the pulse of what’s going on. You just might want to embrace this technique for your company or your personal business. Take a few minutes to read the post and listen to the embedded Four Good Minutes piece – you won’t be disappointed.
Good marketing results in demand creation – the thing that brings you revenue for your product or service. How do you do that? It’s the right balance of awareness of the problem, opportunity, or challenge and you or your product as the solution to that opportunity. You want and need to be seen as the leader. In my 3/27 blog “The New Right Stuff” I talked about the evolution of marketing and what it takes today to be successful. After reading Brent’s recent blog, I have added The New Rules of Marketing and PR to my summer reading list (look for it in our Book Corner in our wiki section) and have already shared it in my Facebook profile. I am convinced that David Meerman Scott’s willingness to give his eBook, ‘The New Rules of PR’ away for free positioned him as understanding the new world, as a thought leader in that world, and quite frankly, opened new business models for him, leading to new levels of success.
Makes me want to try it – what about you?
