Hello All,

Hope someone can help me out.  Using WebEc Recording Editor 2.8

We recorded a webex presentation where the speaker was in 1 timezone away, but the slides were being guided in our own timezone.  The problem was it caused a significant delay (5 to 15 seconds) between each slide change as the speaker was waiting for the slide to show on his screen before he would start speaking.

This presentation was about 21 minutes long.  I've successfully edited out approximately half of the delays but am at a point now where the editor does not work properly.  Problems include;

  • 7 to 10 seconds offset - If I try to cut out a section that is from 12:37 to 12:47, it will actually cut out 12:28 to 12:38.  If I try to go forward 10 seconds it appears to cut out less than 10 seconds but repeats part of the audio.  Very irritating to listen too.
  • Video removed but audio remains???  How could this happen?  Could this occur from taking out a small segment like 2 seconds long?
  • These problems are not consistent, some areas of the rpesentaiton work better than others.

It's frustrating because I have removed 10 delays successfully and the front half of the presentation is smooth and clean but the back half has issues.

I've closed the application and opened it again and still have the same issues.

I've uninstalled the application and reinstalled and still ahve the same issues.

Is there a limitation on the number of edits a file can handle?

To get around using WebEx Editor, I exported the file to WMV format and edited as a pure video.  That worked great and the entire presentation is now 15 minutes long.  But after saving the file again as a WMV, the quality went way down and the file got to large for use on our intranet.  It's technically not to large, but it's inordinately large for this length of a presentation.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steveh

Steve,

Get yourself Microsoft Expression Encoder 2 (free trial) to edit and re-encode your video using the VC-1 Screen codec. You will be amazed at the clarity and compression achieved.
