05/22/2008 4:31 PM Alert

I wanted to take a few minutes to share my frustrating experience when trying to call into the sales team.

I am researching solutions for a client and am taking estimates on software for their 50 clients.  Having used your webex conferencing software and knowing it worked well I went here to get a quote for it and yourWebEx PCNow Enterprise software.

This is a recollection of the chain of events that occurred after deciding to call your sales team:

  • When I called the toll free number I was sent to an operator that spoke perfect English who fielded my request for a quote by transferring me to someone in India
  • The rep in India frankly seemed frustrated with me as soon as I spoke and was relatively unintersted with understanding what I was asking (I can't blame webex for this because there are always bad days for these reps)
  • After spending the next few minutes on the phone patiently explaining my need for a quote and asking my questions the rep slowly started to understand
  • The rep told me to open my browser and to visit http://pcnow.webex.com/
  • He started to quote me a price for the 10 license package of WebEx PCNow but as I had stated that I needed a quote for a 50 license copy I needed the Enterprise version
  • The rep told me that he couldn't provide that quote because he was on the technical team and not on sales
  • He suggested I talk to sales but he couldn't transfer me to them because he was on the technical team and they don't have that capability.

I thanked him for his help and then hung up to call back.

  • I called the same toll free number listed on the product page again and got another operator.
  • After explaining that I needed a sales representative to quote me a price on the WebEx PCNow Enterprise software the operator assured me I would be transferred to Sales
  • I was transfered to another rep in India who was much friendlier but still tried to offer me a quote on the 10 license copy of PCNow
  • This new rep was eager to help me and told me they needed to put me on hold so they could talk to their supervisor for more information
  • They came back on the line two minutes later and informed me that I needed to speak with sales....
  • I told them I had been through this once and after thanking them for their help I told them I didn't have any more time to play games I would quote alternative software for my proposal

So there you have it, I don't know how you can sell software if no one can quote it.

As a result of my experience I feel it would be wrong of me to recommend your software as I I can't even find out how much it costs so obtaining tech support must be a much harder task.

Lane, thanks for posting your comments. Your experience is certainly not the norm, nor is it acceptable to WebEx. One of our local sales reps is following-up to your email address and I'm hopeful we can answer your questions and resolve your concerns. We'll also be reviewing our website information and processes to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Please post if you'd like me to contact you directly.
