Hello Everybody,
My name is Don and I am a Product Manager for WebEx Integrated Audio. I just wanted to take a moment and thank those of you who attended. I'm going to post answers to the questions posed by those who attended the Online Forum on WebEx Integrated Audio.

Q: Can you recommend a

room

microphone for use with Voice over Internet Protocol?

During the session I mentioned that we have used a very impressive room microphone specifically designed for VoIP. The system I spoke about was the Yamaha PJP-100UH. It has 32 arrayed microphones and 12 speakers. It has the most impressive echo cancel I’ve ever heard. We have tested it and it works well with our integrated VoIP. This is a a state-of-the-art system. Please check the unit out at:

Thanks,
Don

Q: How do you secure your VoIP traffic?

All of our meeting traffic, including VoIP communications, is secured using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.

Q: Will your integrated VoIP work with our company's network?

WebEx has designed services to be as compatible as possbile. In general, if your company supports SSL then you should be fine. Each company network is slightly different from others. You should seek out your CSM or SE with specific questions.

Q: What is the capacity of your integrated VoIP service?

Capacities are different for different services. VoIP capacity is currently 500 attendees. We support 7 active microphones which the host can assign. Our Audio Broadcast service was used for the Online Customer Forum. As the name implies it is designed for one-way communication with the audience. Audio Broadcast is used in conjunction with our Event Center or Training Center and telephony services to support panelists in multiple locations. It supports up to 3,000 endpoints.

Q: What type of calendar integration do you offer?

In the forum I discussed Outlook and Notes integration and one-step scheduling of WebEx data and audio sessions. The single step process is available using the WebEx web scheduler. The process creates iCalendar events that are compatible with many calendaring programs.

Q: With a globally dispersed audience (many in developing countries) is there an easy way to figure out the most cost effective audio tool to use?

Unfortunately there is no single answer to that question. I'm not a sales person but I'd have to ask you to call one. The "best" mix of services will depend on where your offices are located and how you wish to interact with your customers or offices. I work closely with the sales team. They are a good group and are focused on finding the right mix for you. Give it a try. If necessary they will active me.

Q: Can you explain in a little more detail about personal audio - 3 accounts - does that mean 3 bridges?

Each WebEx named host has the ability to create up to 3 separate stand-alone audio accounts. These accounts support reservationless audio conferencing. The host account must be enabled by the company's site administrator. When logged into your company's site go to the 'MyWebEx' link at the top. From the 'MyWebEx' page choose 'MyAudio' from the left-hand navigation bar. Then just follow the 'create personal audio account' link.

Q: Where exactly will I find the recorded version of this after It is over(web site and links), and do I have to be a user to get access?

The left-hand navigation bar contains a link named 'My recorded meetings' or 'My recorded events' under the 'Host a Meeting' or 'Host an Event' heading. Your recordings will appear in the landing page of that link. The recording has two links associated with it: streaming and download. Either link can be pasted into other documents or communications. As the name implies, when the streaming link is invoked the recorded session will play from the WebEx site. The 'download' link places a copy of the recording file in the specified directory.
