Our corporation uses the WebEx Integrated VOIP.  With our vast user population and many users on different types of systems, internet speeds, etc... we often encounter challenges with the VOIP consistency.

Are there other users or corporations who are having similar issues and how are you handling them?   Are the issues being resolved quickly?

Hi Laurie,
My name is Don and I’m a Product Manager for WebEx Audio services. Your post covers a lot of ground so there are several possible answers to your VoIP questions. Unfortunately, much of the performance of VoIP depends on network factors outside WebEx control. When VoIP packets traverse our MediaTone® network bandwidth is not an issue. The path from your computer to our network, however, is subject to all types of limitations. Our VoIP uses only 36.2 Kbps of bandwidth for the mixed audio stream so the area of greatest potential savings comes from the data stream. Here are some suggestions:

-  By far the easiest step to take is to make sure you are on the latest software version. If you are not
on WBS25 then contact your Customer Service Manager to upgrade. Performance improvements were
made in WBS25 that will help you.
- VoIP and your data session share the same connection. Limiting complex animations or video clips in
your presentations or shared applications can reduce the bandwidth requirements.
- Teleworkers and road warriors need to take a look at the SLA of their access service.

We also suggest you check out www.net-peeker.com and www.visualware.com if you are interested in your bandwidth utilization.

Thanks for posting.
Don

Thanks, Don, for your response.   We are looking into upgrading from WBS 23 to 25 but face some LMS integration issues to overcome.  We are hoping that the upgrade will solve a few of our major issues, particularly with VOIP.
