Here's a neat trick I came up with this afternoon. I've wanted to have on-demand sounds for my presentations like cheering and clapping, jeopardy music, groaning, buzzers, etc. to liven up my classes when giving quick quizes. I did some experimenting the results we quite good. Here's what you'll need:

• Your sound FX files of course
• Windows Media Player set up to use the miniplayer.
  Right-click an open area of the Windows taskbar (such as below the system clock), point to Toolbars, and then click Windows Media Player.This turns on the feature and only needs to be performed once. A check mark appears next to Windows Media Player to indicate that it is turned on. To switch to mini Player mode in the future, simply click the Minimize button in the Player.
• A dynmetric or other such device that connects your telphone to the computer.

Now when you are in your presentation you choose the sound and click play right from the miniplayer on the taskbar and the sound goes out over the telephone.
