We have partnered with WebOffice in developing workflow models that leverage the WebOffice tools to support specific types of care programs. It is largely the power of a group/permissions specific totally customizable database that is at the heart of the appeal, because most "applications" in healthcare are constrained and do not enable alot of individual or small group user customization. The use of secure outbound links as reminders is an important utility in the "outbound" communication process from a small group of care managers, responsible for a large group of "patients" but having to interact with a limited number of clinicians in disparate practices. I would be happy to share some of these approaches and concepts with anyone interested in looking at the use of the WebOffice collaboration tools for this vertical and interested in the thoughts or experiences of others. Several of us also have "personal weboffices" as central information hubs that include calendars/invitation processes and personalized online databases for things as private as personal financial or health records, online website password storage, documents, or just as simple as an instant database for planning a family trip when multiple geographically separated family members need to provide their input.
